Meet our representative at Guwahati airport and drive to Kaziranga National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the bank of the Brahmaputra, and the oldest park in Assam. It holds the world's largest population of the one-horned rhinoceros along with about 15 of India's threatened mammal species. Overnight at Kaziranga.
Early morning elephant safari (optional). After breakfast, jeep safari in one of the ranges of the park. You can also visit India's biggest orchid garden and the museum there. Afterwards drive to Guwahati. Overnight at Guwahati.
After breakfast drive to Shillong, stopping en route at Umiam (Barapani) Lake, about 17 km from Shillong and ringed by hills, with water-sports facilities. Shillong sightseeing: Don Bosco Museum, the Cathedral Church, Ward's Lake and Lady Hydari Park. If time permits, the Police Bazar market in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Shillong.
Early morning drive to Cherrapunjee for its waterfalls and limestone caves — Mawkdok viewpoint, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Thangkharang Park and Mawsmai Cave. Return to the hotel; overnight at Cherrapunjee.
After breakfast drive to Mawlynnong, known as the cleanest village in Asia. Visit the living root bridge (about an hour of easy hiking), the Balancing Rock and the village tree house. After lunch continue to Dawki for the river and the bridge. Return to Shillong for the night.
After breakfast visit Laitlum Canyons, then return to Guwahati and drop at the airport.
